New CD: Ruined for the OrdinaryJill Hagen & Band (Ray Banman, bass; Kurt Driedger, guitar; Nathan Labrecque, drums; Terry Prokopchuk, sound have had a whirlwind 2010, kicking off Jill's second album, Ruined for the Ordinary. CD Release concerts were held at Olds College, Church of God in Camrose, the Max in Drayton Valley and at Glenmore Christian Academy in Calgary.
Jill Hagen talks about her new CD: "Bringing out new music in front of family and friends is vulnerable but also exciting as I was able to express the amazing blessings in my life admidst the difficult struggles I have faced. The CD "Ruined for the Ordinary" was named after I was talking with a missionary in my church about how stepping out in God's calling is tough sometimes but that I have seen God move in incredible ways and I would never want to go back to how I knew my life before. The missionary said, 'Then you are ruined for the ordinary.' It stuck in my mind after that and I ended up not only writing a song but naming the whole album after it. I want to live my life in such a way that I can marvel at the power of God to act and move in all circumstances according to His purpose and plan."
TouringJill Hagen & Band will be on tour in Manitoba until early March 2010 and then will embark on a whirlwind tour of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio through the month of March.
TestimonialJill Hagen & Band toured through the U.S. midwest in 2009, visiting churches and schools. We received the following testimonial after they visited Elliston, MT:
I want to thank you (Jill Hagen) and the guys in the Band for coming to Elliston and Avon this month. To say that the trip was successful would be a gross understatement. The people of both churches were very blessed by the ministry and message you all shared. The music and worship were a true blessing. I can only give God the Glory for the turnout that we saw on March 14 at the school gym in Elliston. There were over 70 people in attendance, with the bulk of those being high school and junior high school aged kids. We have heard nothing but great things about you and the band, your music, message and overall show of love and concern for the choices the kids make. Many have asked, “When are they coming back?” That is awesome!
Again thanks for the time invested here. You all were gracious
guests, personable, professional and Christ like. What more could we
ask for? I do hope you will keep us mind when you are thinking of
coming back this way. You and the band are always welcome to come and
visit us at our home. Thanks again.
