Jill Hagen talks about the release concerts: "Bringing out new music in front of family and friends is vulnerable but also exciting as I was able to express the amazing blessings in my life admidst the difficult struggles I have faced. The CD "Ruined for the Ordinary" was named after I was talking with a missionary in my church about how stepping out in God's calling is tough sometimes but that I have seen God move in incredible ways and I would never want to go back to how I knew my life before. The missionary said, "Then you are ruined for the ordinary."  It stuck in my mind after that and I ended up not only writing a song but naming the whole album after it. I want to live my life in such a way that I can marvel at the power of God to act and move in all circumstances according to His purpose and plan."
