Mobilization/Recruiting Director and Assistant

Your role will be to mobilize (recruit) team members for VTI teams, as well as follow up with and provide information to accepted team members and their families, to assist them in preparing for training camp. Responsibilities will include: attending and leading seminars at mission conferences and Bible College conferences, corresponding and following up with potential recruits by email, Facebook and telephone, database entry, and annual updates of VTI team related resources.

Minimum qualifications: Bible college, knowledge of VTI programs (preferably a VTI alumnus) and an enthusiastic attitude! You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to foster relationships with young people. The ability to be a team player is essential!

Your position (Director or Assistant) will be based on qualifications, work history and number of hours worked.

Salary: These are support-raising or volunteer positions.
Status: Full-time beginning Summer 2010.

Training Staff (Arts & Ministry)

If you are interested in a tremendously rewarding discipleship opportunity, this is for you! Training staff prepare our teams for ministry, teaching and mentoring in a variety of areas: drama, puppetry, ministry to children and youth, crafts/games, creative teaching/illusions, Bible teaching, teamwork, chalk art, and more! VTI Alumni would be a perfect fit for any of these training positions! The following positions are currently vacant:
  • Drama Coordinator - Your responsibilities would include writing drama scripts for various age groups/audiences, mimes/vignettes. Experience in directing and teaching drama would be an asset.
  • Chalk Art Coordinator - As the Chalk Art Coordinator you will be responsible to develop suitable chalk art presentations used in VTI programs. Other responsibilities include: mentoring, teaching and developing the skills of VTI team members. Maintaining chalk art resources (supply of paper and chalk or poster paints etc.) will also be your responsibility.
  • Puppetry Coordinator - Use your creative skills to write relevant puppet scripts, and teach team members how to use puppets and write scripts. Knowledge of VTI programs and experience as a puppeteer would be an asset.

Minimum qualifications: Bible college degree and sufficient training and experience. You enjoy discipling and mentoring youth and are willing to model a life of dependence on the Lord in front of our teams. You have the ability to teach and enjoy seeing yourself "multiplied" as team members use your training to reach the world! A VTI alumnus would be a preferred candidate. You must be willing to spend some parts of the year at Discovery Lodge, our training centre in Water Valley, AB (about an hour northwest of Calgary), as well as time in our office in Calgary, and possibly some time on the road. The ability to be a team player and work closely with others on the staff team is essential.
